WHNT “Show Off Your Pet!” Contest
OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING
Prize is a (3) three-day kenneling at Paradise Pet Resort Spa for your pet plus a VIP Spa Grooming for your pet during the stay. VIP grooming includes bubble bath with aromatherapy shampoo and conditioner, full body pet massage, pedicure and teeth brushing. Kenneling for the pet is a “villa suite” which includes direct access to indoor courtyard and play area, deluxe bedding, cable TV, web cam, and individual time on playgrounds four times each day (ARV: $200).
WHO CAN ENTER
Entrants must be legal residents of Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan counties in Alabama and Lincoln County in Tennessee who are 18 years of age or older. Employees of Local TV, LLC d/b/a WHNT News 19 and Paradise Pet Resort & Spa of Madison, AL (collectively, “Sponsors”), their respective affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members of each such employee are ineligible. The term “immediate family members” includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws,” or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension.
HOW TO ENTER
1.The sweepstakes will begin when the online sweepstakes entry form is posted on WHNT.com on or about February 11, 2011, and continue until terminated by WHNT.
2.Enter by visiting the WHNT “Show Off Your Pet!” Contest official registration page on www.whnt.com, completing all of the required information and following all posted instructions.
3.A valid submission is a single photograph of your pet or pets. Only one entry per person. Once approved by WHNT, photos will be uploaded to www.whnt.com for viewing. Popularity voting may be enabled. Votes for submissions are not necessary to win. High voting does not improve chances of winning.
4.Entries will be void if they are incomplete, late, lost, damaged, or are not able to be viewed due to technical error. Entrants who fail to provide the required information will not be eligible to win and will not be notified by WHNT.
HOW TO WIN
5.There will be a prize drawing at random from the database of eligible registrants on or about the last day of each month during the Contest Period. Each drawing will take place from those entries received by 4pm CST on the last day of the month. Any person validly entered and has not already won will remain in the database and is eligible for future monthly drawings. Only one entry per person.
6.Monthly winners will be named on the website, pending notification and verification of eligibility.
7.Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If WHNT News 19 cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded. Prizes that are not picked up within one month of email notification are forfeit.
8.Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use a winner’s name, hometown, and photograph in any media for any commercial, promotional, or other purpose without additional compensation. Maximum one (1) entry per person.
9.Sponsor(s) are not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alterations of, entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entries, communications with winners or other sweepstakes information by Sponsor(s) or entrants for any reason whatsoever. Sponsor(s) are also not responsible for any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from downloading any materials in the sweepstakes or for entries that are late, misdirected or incomplete. All entries become the property of Sponsor(s) and none will be returned. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATIONS OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR(S) RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor(s) reserve the right to cancel the sweepstakes if it becomes technically corrupted.
THE PRIZE

11.Winner will be notified by email or phone on or about the first day of each month. To claim prize, winner must personally visit WHNT News 19 located at 200 Holmes Avenue within thirty (30) business days after notification (office visits must be between the hours of 8:00am-4:45pm (C.S.T.) Monday-Friday and must present valid photo identification. Winner will also be required to complete, sign and return a Certification of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release. If winner is unable to unwilling to complete the documentation, he or she will be disqualified and the prize will be awarded to a substitute winner selected at random from among all remaining eligible entries.
12.Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash or substituted for any other items by a winner. A winner cannot assign or transfer prizes. Sponsor(s) reserve the right to substitute any prize or component of any prize package with a prize or component of like or greater value, including cash, for any reason. Except where prohibited, acceptance of any prize constitutes that winner’s consent to the publication of his or her name, biographical information and likeness in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation or further compensation. Prizes not won and claimed by eligible winners in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded and will remain the property of Sponsor(s).
13.Winner is responsible for all local, county, state, and federal taxes on prizes based on the value of the prizes set forth in these rules.
ODDS OF WINNING
14.The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
15.Copies of the contest rules are available at www.whnt.com and Monday through Friday during normal business hours at WHNT News 19, 200 Holmes Avenue, Huntsville, Alabama 35801 and will be available for at least two months past contest termination.
16.For the names of the prize winners to date, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope after February 28, 2011 to WHNT “Show Off Your Pet!” Contest, WHNT News 19, 200 Holmes Avenue, Huntsville, Alabama 35801.
17.This sweepstakes is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law, including without limitation, in jurisdictions requiring registration, the establishment of a trust account, or posting of a bond, or any other requirements or disclosures that are not expressly satisfied by these rules. Sponsor(s) are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, offering, or administration of the sweepstakes, or in any announcement relating to the sweepstakes.
18.By entering, entrants represent that they are eligible, and agree (a) to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges selected by Sponsor(s), which shall be final in all respects, (b) to release Sponsor(s), their corporate parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and promotion agencies and the directors, officers, employees, and agents of each of these entities from any and all liability and claims for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from the acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize, and (c) to the use of entrants’ personal information as described in WHNT’s Privacy Policy located at whnt.com.
